I ended up with a much smaller room than expected and was charged significantly more for an upgrade. The breakfast selection left much to be desired. the only warm option was a self-serve waffle that wasn't very appealing—definitely not the hearty meal I hoped for before hitting the road again.

I had a great experience staying at Howard Johnson in Albuquerque. The king room felt spacious and clean. Plush bedding made my nights restful. Breakfast options, though simple, included tasty pastries and fresh bananas. Staff members proved friendly and helpful during my stay. The location on historic Route 66 offered easy access to local attractions, and I enjoyed strolling nearby. However, noise from the busy street was noticeable at times, which might disrupt light sleepers. The lack of a pool could be a downside for families looking for activities. Still, for a short stay, it's a lovely choice with its warm atmosphere and charm.
